Three prisoners executed in Mashhad’s Vakilabad Prison

The death sentences of three prisoners, including two Baloch men, were carried out in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. Sajad Barahouei, Amir Ahmad Sanai (Mazarehei), and Mohammadreza Damideh had previously been convicted of premeditated murder and drug-related charges.

According to reports received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, April 9, Sajad Barahouei, 22, from the village of Shalghami Sofla in Sarakhs County, was executed in Mashhad Central Prison. He had been arrested around two years ago on murder charges and subsequently sentenced to death.

As reported by Haalvsh, on the morning of Tuesday, April 8, two other prisoners—Amir Ahmad Sanai, a father of two from Hirmand residing in Mashhad, and Mohammadreza Damideh, 32, a father of three from Neyshabur, Razavi Khorasan Province—were executed in Vakilabad Prison as well. Both had been held for three years on drug-related charges before being sentenced to death.

As of the time of publishing, none of these executions have been reported by state media or judiciary-affiliated outlets.
