Two prisoners executed in Gonabad Central Prison on drugs- related charges

The death sentences of two Baloch prisoners, Younes Kord (also known as Abdullah Narouei) and Esmail Dahmardeh, were carried out in Gonabad Central Prison, located in Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province. They had previously been convicted on drug-related charges.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Younes Kord, 48, originally from Zahedan and a resident of Gorgan, and Esmail Dahmardeh, 62 and also from Zahedan, were executed.
Both prisoners were married and fathers to several children. They had been arrested six years ago in separate cases on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
As of the time this report was published, state media and judiciary-affiliated outlets have not publicly reported the executions.
