Two Afghan nationals executed in Qazvin Central Prison

Two Afghan nationals, Rabi Shah-Morad and Wasim Ahmad, were executed in Qazvin Central Prison after being convicted on drug-related charges by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution was carried out at dawn on Saturday, April 12, 2025 in Qazvin Central Prison.
Shah-Morad, 27, and Ahmad, 40, were both originally from Kunduz province in Afghanistan. The two were uncle and nephew, and had been arrested three years ago in connection with a joint case involving drug trafficking. They were later sentenced to death by the judiciary.
As of the time of this report, state-run media and outlets affiliated with Iran’s judiciary have not announced the executions.
