Hengaw: Sunday, April 20, 2025

Farideh Moradi and Golnoosh Nasiri, two Baha’i women residing in Mashhad, have been arrested and transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad to serve their eight-month prison sentences.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, April 20, 2025, both Farideh Moradi and Golnoosh Nasiri were arrested after being summoned to the Sentence Enforcement Unit of the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad. They were then transferred to Vakilabad Prison to begin serving their eight-month prison terms.

In November 2023, Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad, presided over by Judge Hadi Mansouri, had sentenced each of them to 3 years in prison on the charge of “membership in groups and associations with the intent to disrupt national security,” and to 8 months in prison for “propaganda activities against the regime.”

The sentence was eventually reduced by the Court of Appeals of Razavi Khorasan Province to 8 months of imprisonment for each individual.

It is worth noting that in early September 2023, both Farideh Moradi and Golnoosh Nasiri had undergone interrogation procedures after being summoned to court, and were temporarily released on bail of 5 billion tomans each, pending the conclusion of judicial proceedings.
