Execution carried out for Nezam Sadeghi at Zanjan Central Prison on drug-related charges

The execution of a prisoner named Nezam Sadeghi, who had previously been sentenced to death on drug-related charges, was carried out at Zanjan Central Prison. According to a report received by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, at dawn on Wednesday, April 23, Nezam Sadeghi, aged 40, father of two children and a resident of Zanjan, was executed at Zanjan Central Prison.

The prisoner had been arrested three years ago on charges of drug trafficking and was later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
