Yaser Amini and Mehdi Moghaddam executed in Qazvin Central Prison

Two prisoners, Yaser Amini and Mehdi Moghaddam, were executed in Qazvin Central Prison (Chubindar) after being convicted on charges of murder and drug trafficking, respectively.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

Amini, 32, had been sentenced to death for premeditated murder, while Moghaddam, 30, faced execution for drug-related offenses. Both men were convicted by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

State media and judiciary-affiliated news outlets have not officially announced the executions
