17-year-old Kurdish boy jailed to serve sentence in Bukan

Milad Naseri, a 17-year-old Kurdish teenager from Kani Rash village near Bukan, has been transferred to Bukan Central Prison to begin serving an 18-month prison sentence.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Naseri was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, after appearing at the Enforcement Office in Bukan.
He had previously been sentenced by the Bukan Revolutionary Court to one year and six months of discretionary imprisonment on charges of "membership in the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan."
Naseri was originally arrested on October 23, 2024, by agents of the Intelligence Department, who used excessive force during the arrest. He was released two weeks later on bail—set at 400 million tomans—from the juvenile ward of Bukan Central Prison, pending trial.
