Iran holds three Kurds, including a minor, incommunicado
Hengaw – Saturday, June 13, 2026
Iranian security forces have arrested Hersh Sharifian, a minor from Kamyaran, Behnam Moloudi from Oshnavieh (Shno), and Khaled Hassanzadeh from Piranshahr in recent weeks. Despite repeated efforts by their families to obtain information, their whereabouts and condition remain unknown.
Based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hersh Sharifian, a 17-year-old from the village of Palangan in Kamyaran (Kamiran), was arrested on June 6, 2026. Intelligence Department agents broke down the door of his family home before summoning him to their office, where he was immediately detained upon arrival.
Behnam Moloudi, a resident of Oshnavieh, was arrested on May 30, 2026. An informed source close to his family stated that security forces assaulted Moloudi during the arrest and damaged the doors and windows of his residence.
Khaled Hassanzadeh, a resident of Piranshahr, was arrested during the first week of June and transferred to a security detention facility in Urmia.
Efforts to obtain information about the three detainees have so far been unsuccessful. Hersh Sharifian, Behnam Moloudi, and Khaled Hassanzadeh have been denied contact with their families and have not been permitted visits, raising serious concerns about their wellbeing and conditions of detention.
