Rouhollah Gahramani executed in Tabriz; 48 Turkish prisoners hanged within 5 months

Rouhollah Gahramani, a Turkish prisoner from Tabriz, was executed in the city’s central prison after being convicted of premeditated murder.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place in the early hours of Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Gahramani, 30, had been in custody for five years before the sentence was carried out.

The state media and judiciary-affiliated outlets have not confirmed or reported the execution.

Data from Hengaw’s Statistics and Documentation Center shows that at least 48 Turkish prisoners have been executed in various prisons across Iran since the beginning of 2025 — a period of less than five months.
