Execution of Ali-Asghar Alami implemented after 13 years in custody

The death sentence of Ali-Asghar Alami, a prisoner held in Damghan Central Prison in Semnan Province, was implemented after thirteen years in custody. Alami had been convicted of premeditated murder and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place in the early hours of Monday, May 19, 2025, at Damghan Central Prison.
Alami was arrested thirteen years ago on charges of premeditated murder and was subsequently sentenced to death following judicial proceedings conducted by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
No official state media outlets, including those affiliated with the judiciary, have reported on the execution.
