Six prisoners, including two Afghan nationals, executed in Shiraz and Mashhad

Six prisoners, including two Afghan nationals, were executed in Iran’s Shiraz and Mashhad central prisons. Ayoub Samadi and Mojtaba Taheri were executed in Shiraz’s Adelabad Prison, while Zubeid Ali-Maleki, Salim (surname unknown), Jafar Veysi, and Yashar Haghdoost were executed in Mashhad’s Vakilabad Prison. All were convicted of murder or drug-related offenses.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Sunday, June 8, 2025, Samadi and Taheri, a native of Ahar, were executed in Adelabad Prison. Samadi had been imprisoned for two years and eight months, and Taheri for four years, both on drug-related charges.

On Saturday morning, June 7, 2025, Ali-Maleki, a native of Sheberghan, Afghanistan; Salim, from Kabul, Afghanistan (surname unknown); Veysi, from Neyshabur; and Haghdoost were executed in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. The two Afghan nationals had been detained for three years on drug charges, Haghdoost for five years, and Veysi for four years following a conviction of intentional murder.

The executions had not been reported by Iranian state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
