Three prisoners executed in Ahar, Ardabil, and Maragheh Prisons

The death sentences of three Turkish prisoners — Naghī Soufian, Shahin Karami, and Alireza Heidarzadeh — were carried out in recent days across the central prisons of Ahar, Ardabil, and Maragheh. All three had been convicted of murder by the Iranian courts.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Naghī Soufian, a 28-year-old man from Zanjan, was executed in Ahar Central Prison. He had been arrested four years earlier and sentenced to death for murder.
On the same day, Shahin Karami, 27 and a native of Ardabil, was executed in Ardabil Central Prison. He had been convicted five years ago of murdering his fiancée.
Additionally, on Sunday, June 8, Alireza Heidarzadeh, 29, from Maragheh, was executed in Maragheh Central Prison. He had been arrested for killing his cousin and was subsequently sentenced to death.
None of the executions have been officially acknowledged by Iranian state media or judiciary-affiliated outlets
