Shirvan – Kurdish cultural activist Mostafa Rahnama arrested by IRGC Intelligence forces

Mostafa Rahnama, a Kurdish athlete and cultural activist from Shirvan in North Khorasan Province, was arrested by agents of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization and taken to an undisclosed location.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Rahnama, 47, was detained on Monday, July 21, 2025, near University Square in Shirvan. Following his arrest, he was transferred to an unknown location.
Sources familiar with the case reported that the arrest was carried out without the presentation of any judicial warrant. Despite persistent efforts by his family to obtain information regarding his whereabouts and legal status, no response has been provided by the authorities.
No details have been made available regarding the reasons for Rahnama’s arrest, the charges brought against him, his place of detention, or his current condition.
