Execution of Ali Joghatay carried out in Sabzevar Prison

The death sentence of Ali Joghatay, a resident of Joghatay in Razavi Khorasan Province, was carried out at Sabzevar Central Prison. Joghatay had previously been sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place in the early hours of Saturday, June 14, 2025. Joghatay, a Turkish man and native of Joghatay, had been arrested on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The execution has not been publicly announced by state-affiliated media, particularly outlets close to the judiciary.
