The death sentences of two Turkish prisoners, Amin Khosravi and Saeed Asadzadeh, were carried out at Tabriz Central Prison. The two men had been convicted in a joint case on charges of “premeditated murder” and drug-related offenses.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions took place at dawn on Monday, July 7, 2025. Khosravi, 38, was the father of one child, while Asadzadeh, 43, was the father of two.
They were arrested around three years ago on the Tabriz–Zanjan highway during a police chase linked to drug trafficking. During the pursuit, a police officer was killed.
It remains unclear whether the executions were officially carried out for the drug charges or for the killing of the officer.
No official announcements regarding the executions have been made by state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets.
