Jafar Khoshkalam executed in Rasht prison

The death sentence of Jafar Khoshkalam, a Gilak prisoner convicted of drug-related offenses, was carried out at Rasht Central Prison (Lakan).

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Khoshkalam, a 41-year-old resident of Rasht, had been sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary following his arrest two years ago on drug-related charges.

Sources familiar with the case confirmed his arrest and subsequent conviction.

This execution, like many others, has not been publicly announced by state-affiliated media or judicial authorities.
