Three prisoners executed in Gorgan Central Prison

Three prisoners convicted of rape in a joint case were executed at Gorgan Central Prison, located in the capital of Golestan Province.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions took place on Friday, July 19, 2025, following final approval of the death sentences by a branch of Iran’s Supreme Court.

Hengaw has confirmed the identities of two of the executed individuals as Alireza Eshtarak and Mohammad Eshtarak, Baluch brothers from Aq Qala, Golestan Province. The identity of the third prisoner is still being investigated by the organization.

Iran’s judiciary-affiliated outlet Mizan News Agency confirmed the executions but did not release the names of those executed. The report stated that the sentences had been finalized by the Supreme Court and subsequently carried out.
