Sanandaj – IRGC forces arrest 18-year-old Kurdish woman Zhino Karimi from Marivan

Roghayeh (Zhino) Karimi, an 18-year-old Kurdish woman from Marivan, has been held in custody by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) since mid-July. She remains in detention without charge.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Karimi was transferred to the Marivan Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Center after nearly two weeks in IRGC custody.

During her detention, she has been denied access to both her family and legal representation.

Karimi was arrested on August 8, 2025, in Marivan by IRGC Intelligence agents and taken to Shahramfar Garrison, the IRGC detention facility in Sanandaj (Sine).

The authorities have not disclosed the reasons for her arrest or the charges against her.
