Hengaw– Wednesday, August 17, 2025
Tina Deljou, a university lecturer, social activist, and former political prisoner from Rasht, has once again been sentenced to prison by the Iranian judiciary.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Deljou, a native of Rasht and a political science graduate, was sentenced by Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court of Rasht to one year in prison on charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
This is not the first time she has faced such a conviction. Deljou was previously sentenced by the same court to one year in prison on similar charges. She was released after serving 40 days of that sentence under electronic monitoring.
In another case, Deljou was also sentenced to seven months in prison on charges of “spreading false information,” a sentence she has already served.
