Two prisoners, Ali Yavari and Ali-Mirza Gholikhani, executed in Hamedan and Rasht

Iranian authorities have carried out the death sentences of two prisoners, identified as Ali Yavari and Ali-Mirza Gholikhani, who had been convicted on drug-related charges, in the prisons of Hamedan and Rasht.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution of Ali Yavari, a prisoner from Hamedan, was carried out at dawn on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in Hamedan Central Prison. He had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
On the same day, the execution of another prisoner, Ali-Mirza Gholikhani, a 43-year-old Gilak from Lahijan in Gilan Province, was carried out in Rasht Central Prison (Lakan). He had been arrested four years earlier on drug-related charges and sentenced to death.
The executions of these two prisoners have not been reported by state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
