Four prisoners executed in Yazd, Tabriz, and Borujerd

The death sentences of four prisoners, including a Turkish prisoner, identified as Hashem Sorkhi, Rahman Jahangiri, Hassan-Ali Zinizadeh, and Hassan Shahverdi—previously convicted by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran—have been carried out in Yazd, Tabriz, and Borujerd prisons.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Friday, August 8, 2025, the executions of Sorkhi, 42, father of two, and Jahangiri, 45, father of three, were carried out in Yazd Central Prison. Both men had been arrested three years earlier in a joint case and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
Separately, at dawn on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, the execution of a Turkish prisoner, Zinizadeh, 43, from Tabriz, was carried out in Tabriz Central Prison. According to the Iran Human Rights Organization, he had been arrested four years earlier and sentenced to death by the judiciary.
On the same day, the execution of Shahverdi, 57, was carried out in Borujerd Central Prison in Lorestan Province. He, too, had been arrested four years earlier and sentenced to death.
The executions have not been announced by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
