Iranian court sentences six Kurds in Oshnavieh to over 10 years in prison collectively

Six Kurdish men from Oshnavieh (Shno) have been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court to a combined total of 124 months in prison.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the court issued the following sentences: Hassan Shadab – 3 years, Kaveh Khakinejad (from Sufiyan village) – 20 months, Jamal Hosseinnezhad (from Sargiz) – 20 months, Kamyar Oghabi (from Balagir) – 20 months, Mahmoud Ghaderi (from Sargiz) – 16 months, and Mansour Farash (from Sargiz) – 12 months.

They were convicted on charges of “collaboration with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan” and “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The six men were arrested by security forces in early July during raids on their homes and were later released on bail on Sunday, August 17, 2025, pending trial.

During their detention, they were denied access to legal counsel and barred from family visits.
