The Iranian judiciary has sentenced Manijeh Khoshnoud, a 58-year-old Kurdish woman and activist from Bukan, to three months in prison. The sentence has been formally communicated to her.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 101 of the Bukan Criminal Court II issued the sentence on the charge of “propaganda against the state” and formally notified Khoshnoud of the ruling on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Intelligence Department forces arrested Khoshnoud at her family home on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, after raiding the residence without presenting a warrant. The forces searched the home and confiscated her personal belongings, including a laptop, mobile phone, and several books.

In 2024, Branch 101 of the Bukan Criminal Court had also sentenced Khoshnoud to 10 months in prison on a similar charge of “propaganda against the state.”
