17-year-old student Parsa Ghasemi arrested in Behbahan

Iranian Ministry of Intelligence agents have arrested Parsa Ghasemi, a 17-year-old Lor student from Behbahan in Khuzestan Province, on charges related to his online activities. He was transferred to an undisclosed location.

Verified information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights shows that, Ghasemi was arrested at his family home in Behbahan on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Security forces carried out the arrest without presenting a court warrant.

Ghasemi now faces charges related to his social media activities, including “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran” and “insulting Khomeini.”

In the first half of 2025, Iranian security forces arrested at least 22 children and adolescents.
