Three prisoners executed in Urmia Central Prison

The death sentences of three Turkish prisoners—Javad Ali, Rahman Javan, and Morteza Zichi—were carried out in Urmia Central Prison. They had each been convicted in separate cases on charges of premeditated murder.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, August 31, 2025, the executions of Ali, Javan, and Zichi were implemented in Urmia Central Prison.

Sources reported that on Saturday, August 30, the three prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for the executions.

All three had previously been arrested on charges of premeditated murder and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

Iranian state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets, have not announced these executions.
