Two prisoners executed in Tabriz Central Prison

The death sentences of two Turkish prisoners, Abolfazl Asgari and another identified by the surname Darvishpour, were carried out in in Tabriz Central Prison.
Both had been convicted in separate cases of premeditated murder.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Asgari, 30, from Tabriz, had been arrested nine years ago, at the age of 21, for the murder of his aunt during a robbery of her gold and was later sentenced to death. Darvishpour, 40, from Maragheh, had been arrested five years ago in connection with a fatal street altercation and sentenced to death.
Iranian state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets, have not reported these executions.
