Execution of Ahmad Rafiei and Abdolreza Karimi carried out in Arak Prison

Iranian authorities executed two prisoners, Ahmad Rafiei and Abdolreza Karimi, both from Arak in Markazi Province, in Arak Central Prison. The two men had previously been sentenced to death in a joint case on drug-related charges.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

A source familiar with the case reported that Rafiei and Karimi had been arrested two years ago on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

The executions have not yet been reported by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
