Hafez Ghavidast executed in Rasht’s Lakan Prison

Iranian authorities have executed Hafez Ghavidast, a 30-year-old Kurdish prisoner from Talekuh village in Rudbar County, at Lakan Prison in Rasht. He had been convicted of "premeditated murder" and sentenced to death.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution was carried out at dawn on Saturday, September 13, 2025, inside Rasht Central Prison (Lakan).

Ghavidast was arrested two years ago on charges of premeditated murder in connection with a dispute over antiquities and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

The execution had not been reported by state-run media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
