Hafez Ghavidast executed in Rasht’s Lakan Prison

Iranian authorities have carried out the execution of Hafez Ghavidast, a 30-year-old Gilak prisoner, at Lakan Prison in Rasht. He had been convicted of premeditated murder and sentenced to death.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Saturday, September 13, 2025, inside Rasht Central Prison (Lakan).

Ghavidast had been arrested several years earlier on murder charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

His execution has not been reported by state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
