Seyed Kazem Mousavi executed in Rasht’s Lakan prison

Iranian authorities have executed Seyed Kazem Mousavi, a Gilak prisoner from Rasht, at Lakan Prison. He had been convicted on drug-related charges and sentenced to death.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has learned that the execution took place at dawn on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, inside Rasht Central Prison (Lakan).

Mousavi was previously arrested on charges related to narcotics and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

State-run media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets, had not reported the execution.
