Five men executed in prisons across four Iranian cities

Iranian authorities have executed five prisoners: Qavam Najafi, Amirhossein Pouramini, Peyman Ajami, Rasoul Paydar, and Ali Mozaffari, in Shiraz, Qom, Yasuj, and Hamedan prisons. The men had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses and premeditated murder.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions of Najafi and Pouramini, both from Shahr-e Babak in Kerman Province, were carried out at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz at dawn on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Both had been arrested on charges of premeditated murder and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
On the same day, Ajami, convicted on drug-related charges, was executed at Hamedan Central Prison, while Paydar, a prisoner from Qom, was executed on similar charges.
Also on Sunday, Mozaffari, a 29-year-old Lor man from Yasuj, was executed at the city’s central prison. He had been arrested five years earlier on charges of premeditated murder and sentenced to death.
State media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary, had not reported the executions of these five prisoners.
