Hamedan execution raises number of Turks put to death in Iran this year to at least 100

The death sentence of Rouhollah Rostami, a Turkish prisoner who had previously been convicted on drug-related charges, was carried out at Hamedan Central Prison.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Rostami, a resident of Famenin in Hamedan Province, was executed at dawn on Saturday, September 13, 2025, inside Hamedan Central Prison.
Sources familiar with the case stated that Rostami had earlier been arrested on charges related to narcotics and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
State-run media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets, had not announced the execution.
Based on statistics recorded by the Statistics and Documentation Center of Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, since the beginning of 2025—less than nine months—at least 100 Turkish prisoners have been executed in prisons across Iran.
