Iranian authorities execute Peyman Mohammad Rezaei and Bijan Hosseinpanah in separate cases

Iranian authorities have executed two Turkish prisoners convicted of murder in Zanjan Central Prison and Buin Zahra Prison in Qazvin Province.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has learned that Bijan Hosseinpanah was executed at dawn on September 2, 2025, in Zanjan Central Prison. He had been arrested on charges of murder and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

In a separate case, Peyman Mohammad Rezaei, 36, was executed on July 24, 2025, in Buin Zahra Prison, Qazvin Province. He too had been arrested on charges of murder and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

Neither execution has been reported by state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
