Hengaw– Wednesday, October 22, 2025
Feryad Qaderi, a Kurdish political prisoner from Sarvabad (Sawalawa), has been transferred from Marivan Central Prison to Sanandaj Central Prison. He has been denied both temporary leave and access to legal counsel.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, October 19, 2025, Qaderi, aged 49 and from the village of Koolij in Sarvabad County, was transferred to Sanandaj Central Prison, where he remains deprived of his basic rights.
A source close to the family confirmed to Hengaw that the IRGC Intelligence Organization continues to block his access to furlough and communication with his lawyer.
Qaderi was initially detained on March 10, 2024, after being summoned to Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court to begin serving his sentence. He was first held in Sanandaj Central Prison, later transferred to Marivan Central Prison, and has now been returned to Sanandaj after more than a year and a half.
In 2022, Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court sentenced Qaderi to five years of suspended imprisonment on charges of “membership and collaboration with the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK).” He was later re-arrested to serve this sentence.
