Baha’i adherent Agah Sadeqi arrested to serve prison sentence in Bukan

Agah Sadeqi, a Baha’i adherent from Bukan, has been arrested to serve his one-year prison sentence and transferred to the city’s central prison.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sadeqi was summoned to the Enforcement Branch of the Bukan Court earlier today and taken into custody to begin serving his sentence. The arrest took place on Monday, October 6, 2025.
The Bukan Revolutionary Court had previously sentenced Sadeqi to one year in prison on the charge of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
He was initially arrested by security forces in Bukan on May 14, 2024, and was temporarily released on June 9 of the same year after posting bail pending trial.
During his earlier detention, Sadeqi was denied basic rights, and security forces confiscated several of his and his family’s personal belongings.
