Mojtaba Hasanpour executed in Lakan Prison, Rasht

The death sentence of Mojtaba Hasanpour, a Gilak prisoner convicted on drug-related charges, was carried out in Lakan Prison in Rasht, northern Iran.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Hasanpour, aged 42, a resident of Rasht and father of one, had been arrested nearly four years ago on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

The execution has not been announced by Iranian state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
