Four prisoners executed in three Iranian cities

The death sentences of four prisoners, identified as Mohammadreza Cheraghi, Reza Yousefi, Abolfazl Gerousi, and Shaban Ezzati, who had previously been convicted on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related offenses,” were carried out in the cities of Shahroud, Qom, and Tabriz.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, a prisoner named Cheraghi, a resident of Shahroud who had been sentenced to death for murder, was executed in Shahroud Prison in Semnan Province at dawn on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
On the same day, 25-year-old Yousefi, a resident of Qom, was executed in Qom Central Prison. According to Iran Human Rights Organization, he had been arrested about four years earlier after allegedly stabbing two individuals during a fight, which resulted in one death and one permanent injury, and was subsequently sentenced to death.
Separately, two Turkish prisoners, 36-year-old Gerousi and 52-year-old Ezzati, were executed at dawn on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in Tabriz Central Prison. Gerousi had been arrested five years ago for killing a relative during a family dispute, while Ezzati was convicted of fatally shooting a man with a hunting rifle during a personal conflict over farmland. Both were sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
The executions of these prisoners have not been reported by state-controlled media, including outlets affiliated with the Iranian Judiciary.
