Iranian authorities executed seven prisoners in the prisons of Yazd, Mashhad, Rasht and Shiraz. The men were identified as Farzad Hosseini, Rasoul Karimi, “Majid Sh.”, Ali (Yaser) Madadi, Homayoun Jabari, Soheil Yousefi and Hojjat Abdollahnejad. They had previously been sentenced to death on charges of “drug-related offences” and “premeditated murder”.
Hengaw Organization for Human Rights confirmed that officials in Yazd Central Prison executed Hosseini and Karimi at dawn on 4 November 2025. Hosseini had spent about four years in detention on a “premeditated murder” charge, while Karimi had been held for two years on allegations related to “drug-related offences”. Judicial authorities upheld death sentences for both men.
Authorities in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad also executed a 29-year-old man identified as “Majid Sh.” on the same day. He had been arrested four years earlier in connection with the killing of a man identified as “Reza A.”. According to sources, the crime allegedly involved the victim’s spouse, with whom the accused reportedly had an extramarital relationship. “Majid Sh.” received a death sentence, while the alleged accomplice received a prison term.
Lakan Prison in Rasht executed Madadi, a Gilak man from Rasht, and Jabari on 3 November on “drug-related” charges. On that day, Adelabad Prison in Shiraz also carried out the executions of Yousefi, aged 46, and Abdollahnejad, aged 50, both from Bandar Abbas, who had been arrested roughly one year and three months earlier in a joint “drug-related” case.
Iranian state media and judiciary-affiliated outlets had not announced these executions at the time of publication.
