Kurdish man Ramin Khaledi Hassanabadi sentenced to five years in prison

Ramin Khaledi Hassanabadi, a Kurdish resident of Urmia, has been sentenced by the Iranian judiciary to five years in prison. He was arrested earlier this year and subsequently transferred to prison.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court in Urmia, presided over by Judge Shahini, sentenced Khaledi Hassanabadi in October 2025 to five years of imprisonment on charges of “assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security.”
During his detention, Khaledi Hassanabadi was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture aimed at extracting forced confessions.
He was initially arrested in Oshnavieh (Shno) earlier this year and transferred to a security detention facility in Urmia before being moved to Naqadeh Prison.
