Saeid Kordpour, a Kurdish detainee arrested during the January protests, will remain in prison after the Ahvaz Court of Appeals upheld his sentence of three years, six months, and one day.
Information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights indicates that the appeals court recently upheld the sentence without modification. Kordpour, 29, is from Qalehtol in Khuzestan Province and is currently serving his sentence in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz.
The prison term was originally handed down by the Revolutionary Court of Izeh before being referred to the Ahvaz Court of Appeals for review.
Intelligence Ministry forces arrested Kordpour on January 10, 2026, and he has remained in custody since.
