Civil activist Maryam Abbasi Nikou arrested again by IRGC intelligence forces

Maryam Abbasi Nikou, a resident of Shahin Shahr in Isfahan Province, has been arrested again by agents of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, November 10, 2025, Abbasi Nikou, aged 44 and a mother of two, was detained at her home in Shahin Shahr.

Her daughter, Beita Shafiei, wrote on Instagram:

“IRGC intelligence agents raided our home, abducted my mother, and took her to an unknown location. They refuse to give us any answers.”

Beita Shafiei was herself arrested and tortured in 2022 after protesting against the organized chemical attacks on girls’ schools across Iran.

Maryam Abbasi Nikou has previously been detained and persecuted by Iranian authorities for her civil and social activism.
