Qanbar Farhadi and Shirzad Chamani executed in Ilam Central Prison

Iranian authorities carried out the executions of two Kurdish men, Qanbar Farhadi and Shirzad Chamani, in Ilam Central Prison after they had previously been sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder.”

Information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights indicates that the executions were carried out in the early hours of Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Farhadi was from Ilam, while Chamani, 33, was from Kermanshah (Kermashan). Both men were executed in Ilam Central Prison.

According to the same source, Farhadi had been convicted of premeditated murder, while Chamani had been arrested approximately three years earlier on similar charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

State-run media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary, have not announced the executions.
