Two prisoners, including a woman, executed in Mashhad

The death sentences of two prisoners, including a woman named Zahra Khanzadeh and Amir Azizi, were carried out at Vakilabad Prison. Both had previously been sentenced to death in separate cases on charges of “drug-related offenses.”

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out in the early hours of Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the prison in Mashhad.

The two prisoners had earlier been arrested on “drug-related charges” and were later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

News of these executions has not been announced by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
