Hengaw — Sunday, December 7, 2025

Iranian authorities executed Mohammad Ghaffari, the primary defendant in the “Razayat Khodro Taravat Novin” economic case and the managing director of the company, at an undisclosed location.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ghaffari’s death sentence was carried out at dawn on Sunday, 7 December 2025. The location of the execution has not been disclosed.

Mizan News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s judiciary, claimed that Ghaffari had been arrested two years earlier and was eventually sentenced to death.

The report stated that the Special Court for Economic Disruptors issued the death sentence, which was later upheld by the Supreme Court.

Terms such as “economic disruptor” and “corrupt on earth” are routinely used to justify the execution of defendants in economic cases and to obscure the government’s systemic corruption.
