December Protests – Twelve Balochs, including two women, arrested in Zahedan and Chabahar

At least twelve Baloch individuals, including two women, have been arrested by Iranian government forces in the cities of Zahedan and Chabahar, and transferred to undisclosed locations.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, ten Baloch men were violently detained during a raid carried out by government forces in the Shirabad area of Zahedan on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

The detainees have been identified as Majid Ghasemi, Omar Ghasemi, Omid Ghasemi, Esmaeil Rakhshani, Eshagh Rakhshani, Gheis Rakhshani, Saeed Shahouzahi, Hossein Shahouzahi, Shoaib Mohammadani, and Parviz Yousefzahi.

According to Haalvsh, government forces carried out the arrests on Bagheri Street in Zahedan’s Shirabad neighborhood, using violence and live gunfire.

Separately, on Friday, January 9, 2026, two Baloch women—Maral Shirani and Fatemeh Shirani, both residents of Chabahar—were arrested by government forces in the city. Five days after their arrest, no information has been released regarding their whereabouts or condition.

No official information has been provided regarding the legal status, detention locations, or charges against any of the twelve detainees.
