December Protests – Hengaw identifies 35 more arrested by Iranian forces

At least 35 additional individuals, including one Baha’i man, have been arrested by Iranian government forces amid the ongoing December protests.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights. The arrests were reported in Mashhad, Lordegan, Yasuj, Khorramabad, Yazd, Amol, Isfahan, Tehran, Behbahan, Shiraz, Zahedan, Bushehr, and Sari.
Hengaw confirmed that Parsa Ghasemi and Majid Zamenpisheh were arrested in Behbahan on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, and transferred to undisclosed locations.
Mohammadreza Ebrahimi Kalarijani was arrested on Monday, January 5, in Sari. On the same day, Moein Mohammadi, a Baha’i man, was arrested in Yazd, while Abbas Khalili, a 24-year-old athlete from Bushehr, was detained following physical assault by government forces.
Meanwhile, six individuals—Mohsen Mohrabi-Nia, Mehran Borhani, Alireza Aadebi-Far, Navid Baharan, Shayan Fathi, and Behnam Borhani—were arrested in Yasuj.
Also, Reza Mansourian, Hossein Afrasiabi, Ali Alinejad, Ahmad Akhsh, Abbas Ahmadi, Abolfazl Ahmadi, Abolfazl Safari, and Maziar Karami were detained on January 5, during protests in Behbahan. They were released the following day after submitting salary slips and signing written pledges.
Two other residents of Behbahan—Mohammad Shokri and Ali Afrasiabi—were arrested after attempting to flee. Both were injured by pellet gun fire from government forces. No information has since been released regarding their condition or whereabouts.
Earlier, on Sunday, January 4, Ali Hosseini was arrested in Yasuj. On the same day, Homayoun Eftekharnia, an operating room technician, was detained during a raid on his home in Tehran. Fardin Shakermi, a 21-year-old Lor man, was arrested in Khorramabad, while Keyvan Rezaei Dalini, an Asian champion wrestler, was detained outside his sports club in Shiraz.
Later that day, Hamidreza Morsali was arrested after his hand was broken by baton strikes from security forces. Maziar Arian-Far (25) was arrested while injured in Tehran’s Cheragh-Bargh area. Additionally, Abdulaziz Singleh, a Baloch resident of Chabahar, was arrested in Amol after posting an Instagram story.
Hamidreza Rizaneh (18) was arrested in Isfahan on Saturday, January 3. On the same day, Davoud Hosseinpour Aghaei and Rouhollah Khaledi were detained in Lordegan, while Shahab Barati, an 18-year-old from Bojnord, was arrested during protests in Mashhad. According to informed sources, Shahab Barati was violently arrested and transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
Abolfazl Aghaei, a 15-year-old, was arrested on Friday, January 2, in Khorramabad and transferred to an undisclosed location.
Earlier, Jalil Rakhshani (25) was arrested in Zahedan, while Abolfazl Tayebi was detained in Behbahan on Thursday, January 1. Abolfazl Tayebi was later released on January 6.
