Five, including two women, arrested in Sari

Five individuals, including two women, have been arrested by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sari and transferred to undisclosed locations.
The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has learned that four residents of Sari, identified as Hoda Foori, Maryam Mirzaei, Nika Mahmoudi, and Meysam Yazdani, were arrested on Sunday, February 22, 2026. The arrests were carried out by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the city.
In a related development, another resident of Sari, Omid Zabihi, was arrested by IRGC intelligence forces on Saturday, February 21, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to information obtained by Hengaw, the arrests were linked to the individuals’ activities on social media and their participation in memorial ceremonies for those killed during the December Protests.
Meysam Yazdani is the maternal uncle of Mohammad Javad Zahedi, who was killed during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement.
No precise information is available regarding the charges against these individuals, their place of detention, or their current condition.
