Eight detained in multiple cities across Iran amid continued arrests

At least eight individuals, including one Baloch and one Gilak, have been arrested by Iranian authorities in the cities of Sari, Sabzevar, Rasht, Bandar Mahshahr, Chaboksar, and Tehran.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the detainees remain in a state of legal uncertainty.
Rasht, Chaboksar and Sari
Sohrab Kolsoumi, a 32-year-old Gilak from the Masjed Hashemi neighborhood of Rasht, was arrested at his home on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Authorities blindfolded him during the arrest and transferred him to an undisclosed location.
After 26 days of interrogation and severe torture aimed at extracting forced confessions at an IRGC Intelligence detention facility, he was transferred for two days to the intake ward of Lakan Prison in Rasht.
Javad Ebrahimi was arrested on Sunday, January 11, 2026, when authorities raided his home in Chaboksar, Gilan province, and transferred him to Tehran.
Reports indicate that he was subjected to torture and multiple mock executions in order to extract forced confessions.
Hossein Nazari was arrested at his workplace, a car battery repair shop in Sari, on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Bandar Mahshahr
Shayan Rashedi, a 24-year-old from
Bandar Mahshahr in Khuzestan province, was arrested on Thursday, February 19, 2026. No information has since been made available regarding his fate.
Tehran
Reza Nejatbakhsh was arrested at his workplace in Tehran on Monday, February 23, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location.
Javid Azadi, a 33-year-old married Baloch from Chahan in Nikshahr county who resides in Tehran, was arrested on the evening of Sunday, February 15, 2026, after authorities raided his workplace in the Nezamabad district.
Sabzevar
Mousa Alreza Meshkani, a resident of Meshkan in Sabzevar county, was arrested on Saturday, January 10, 2026, and transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. Reports indicate that he was subjected to torture to extract forced confessions, raising serious concerns about his condition. Meshkani was formerly under the care of the State Welfare Organization.
Ali Sharifzadeh known as Eizi was arrested in Sabzevar on Thursday, January 8, 2026, and transferred to a prison in Mashhad.
