Hengaw — Thursday, February 5, 2026
Delaram Kazemi, a Kurdish woman from Gilan-e Gharb (Giallan) in Kermanshah (Kermashan) Province has been held in detention for the past 29 days following her arrest by Iranian government forces. The mother of two is currently being held in the women’s ward of Kermanshah Central Prison, which state media refer to as a “correctional and rehabilitation center.”
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Kazemi was subjected to beatings during her arrest and throughout her detention, including while held in a detention facility. As a result, she sustained fractures to her arms and legs. Despite the severity of her injuries, she was transferred to prison without receiving any medical treatment.
Hengaw has learned that Kazemi was first detained during protests on Sunday, January 4, 2026, and was temporarily released shortly afterward. She was rearrested three days later, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, during protests in Gilan-e Gharb. Her rearrest was carried out with the use of violence and physical assault by Iranian government forces.
Kazemi remains in detention amid serious concerns over her physical condition and the continued denial of medical care.
