Nine arrested across multiple Iranian cities

At least nine people have been arrested by Iranian government forces in Langarud, Neyshabur, Isfahan, Sabzevar, Esfarayen, Tehran, Arak, Shiraz, and Tarom, according to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
These arrests are part of the continuing wave of detentions and enforced uncertainty surrounding detainees’ status. Details of the cases are as follows:
Langarud
Sajjad Rafieipour, a 39-year-old Gilak man, was arrested by government forces in front of his shop in Langarud on February 8, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location.
Sabzevar and Neyshabur
Mehran Arefpour, a 25-year-old DJ, has been in detention since January 10, 2026, after government forces raided his family home in Sabzevar and took him to an undisclosed location. According to informed sources, he was subjected to torture and forced to give a confession accusing him of “leading protests,” and he is at risk of a death sentence.
Hamid Roodsarabi, 30, was arrested during a raid on his workplace in Sabzevar on January 10, 2026, and was subsequently transferred to Mashhad.
Esfarayen
Mohammad Azari, 33, was arrested in Esfarayen on January 14, 2026. After two weeks of interrogation and torture, he was transferred to Esfarayen Prison.
Shiraz and Isfahan
Hadi Morseli, a Kurdish man from Asadabad in Hamedan Province and father of two, was arrested in Shiraz on February 9, 2026.
Mehdi Davari, 43, from Najafabad in Isfahan Province, was arrested in Isfahan on January 3, 2026, and transferred to Dastgerd Prison. His temporary detention order has been extended for an additional month.
Tehran
Mehdi (Arman) Momeni, a Tehran resident, was arrested on January 13, 2026. His family was informed only through a brief phone call confirming his arrest, and no information has been released regarding his place of detention or condition.
Arak
Amirhossein Ahmadi, a 26-year-old civil engineer and fitness coach from Arak, was arrested on January 9, 2026, and transferred to Arak Prison.
Tarom
Amir Jafari, a 22-year-old Turkish man from Tarom, was arrested by government forces on the evening of February 9, 2026, shortly after leaving his workplace. No information has been released about his whereabouts or legal status.
