Iranian authorities detain 11 individuals in multiple cities

At least 11 individuals, including two women, have been detained by Iranian authorities in recent days across seven cities in Iran. In several cases, no information has been made available regarding their fate, based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
The detentions were reported in Tehran, Firuzkuh, Tabriz, Ramsar, Lasht-e Nesha, Karaj, and Likak. The following details have been documented by Hengaw:
Tabriz
Armin Tasmimi, a 22-year-old Turkish resident of Tabriz, was detained by Iranian authorities on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Weeks later, no information has been released regarding his whereabouts or legal status.
Soroush Zahhakan, a 22-year-old Turkish economics student at the University of Tabriz, has remained in detention since Sunday, January 18, 2026, with no information available regarding his fate.
Tehran
Reza Ahmadi, 32, a resident of Tehranpars, was detained at his home on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in front of his wife and child. No information has been made available regarding his current whereabouts.
Mohammad Amin Biglari, a 19-year-old Persian resident of Tehran, was detained during protests on Gorgan Street on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
A raid by Iranian authorities on the home of Sarvenaz Amiri, a 30-year-old physician living in Tehran, led to her detention on the evening of Sunday, January 11, 2026. No information has been released regarding her condition.
During the same period, Ghazal Mirshafiei, a blogger based in Tehran, was also detained by Iranian authorities.
Likak
Yaser Ahmadinejad, a 41-year-old Lor from Likak in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, was detained at the home of one of his relatives on Thursday, February 5, 2026. He works as a contractor for the National Iranian Drilling Company and had previously been sentenced to six months in prison over political activity, serving the term in Ahvaz Prison.
Firuzkuh
A raid by approximately 20 Iranian authorities on the home of Hamidreza Vatani, a child rights activist and an inspector with the Association for Support of Children’s Rights, led to his detention in Firuzkuh on Friday, January 9, 2026. He has been charged with “armed rebellion” and “collusion against national security,” and bail of 70 billion tomans has reportedly been set for his temporary release.
Ramsar
Sina Sotoudeh, 31, from Ramsar in Mazandaran Province and the father of a five-year-old daughter, was detained by Iranian authorities on Saturday, January 10, 2026. For the past eight days, no information has been available regarding his fate.
According to informed sources, Sotoudeh was subjected to torture during detention, resulting in broken teeth, fractures to his arms and legs, severe rib injuries, trauma to the genital area, and internal bleeding. He suffers from epilepsy, has undergone nine surgeries, and has lost a significant portion of one lung.
Karaj
Kamran Rezaei, 28, a resident of Karaj, was detained by Iranian authorities in mid-January 2026. There are serious concerns regarding his physical safety. He was initially held for two days in Ghezel Hesar Prison before being transferred to Kachoui Prison. His current whereabouts, legal status, and any charges against him remain unknown.
Lasht-e Nesha
Mahan Hassani, a 20-year-old Gilak from Lasht-e Nesha in Rasht County, was detained on Friday, January 30, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location. He was reportedly subjected to severe beatings during detention, leaving him in critical condition and requiring transfer to hospital under guard.
Despite his condition, Iranian authorities have prevented any visits by his family or relatives. No clear information has been provided regarding his place of detention.
